August 25th Katrina and Toughie

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Looks like the pads and the 9 ccs of Banimine and 2 ccs of Ace twice a day are working, Katrina is much more comfortable and is moving around on those pads quite well.

Toughie has decided the wraps on Katrinas legs are really fun to pull on and makes it his mission in life to see if he can get them off.

August 24th A sad day

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Jake the dog was put to sleep today. Although I was reasured time and time again by the vet that there was nothing that anyone could do to save him it just didnt make the decision and the reality of having it done any easier.

Katrina had her feet and knee xrayed and it was determined that the lower part of her knee is almost completely fused so there is no hope of getting any pain medication in the lower part of her knee joint. Her left foot has some rotation in the coffin bone but it looks like it may be old. She has very little sole on that foot due to compensating for the other knee so all I can do is keep her padded, wrapped and comfortable and see how it goes. In the mean time Toughie is as rambunctious as ever hasnt a care in the world. He is such a character as we were getting the xrays done he got a lesson on the halter and was quite appalled when he found out that the world actually didnt bow to his every wish and command.
