August 29th WoodRose Katrina and ToughStuff

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

WoodRose Katrina is now in soft wraps instead of pads due to popping an abcess in her left front foot. Until the abcess is drained completely and dry she cannot go back into the pads she was in previously. So far she is managing but the sooner she is back into her pads the better.

ToughStuff has so much piss and vinager in him that he will buck in place when he feels he is not being provided milk fast enough. Below are pictures of just that. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge them.

Because I look at Toughie everyday I dont see all that much of a change in his size I can only evaluate his over all condition and that he continues to run around and has energy to burn. To me he still looks like a new born colt I have to keep remembering that he wasnt due to be born until Sept 10th - 16th

Enjoy the pictures I think the ones of Toughie bucking is a hoot.

August 27th Update on Toughie and Katrina

Monday, August 28th, 2006

The vet comes tomorrow to take the pads off and check and see how Katrinas comfort level is. If she is still sore then another set of pads go on and we wrap her back up and wait another week and check her again. We will also re evaluate her pain medication. Toughie is now being offered a foal suppliment called Foal Lac so far he isnt that interested in it so I may have to change over to the liquid instead of the pellets to get him jump started on it. As far as everything else goes for little Toughie it seems to be coming along quite nicely. I will be posting pictures of Toughie Monday August 28th and everyone can compare them and see if they see an improvement in how he looks.

I have my breath held for Katrina and hope that she holds steady.
